The Circus

Last week we went to Greensboro for the Circus.
Josie & Tatlon LOVED the show.

Chapel

Josie attends Salisbury Academy and they have a
weekly chapel service.
Last week, Josie's class shared a special song during chapel.
She is on the right in a pink & black dress.

Sheep

We started out with one ewe lamb name Barbie for Josie to show.
Then learned that sheep don't like to be alone.
So, we got Barbie a friend we named Bella. That was several years ago, Josie really enjoyed working with them and showing...so we all got involved.
David got the "sheep bug" and is now very involved. Barbie & Bella
both had twins last year. We kept 2 more ewe lambs-Tulip & Mariposa. Now, with all these ewes (David got one named Meggie for Christmas) we had to have a Ram. So, we are in partnership with several others and Wally the Ram has been here on the farm since October. Our partnership is called Black Sheep Club Lambs and we'd love to set everyone up with a good show lamb!
With more youth becoming involved, David and our Livestock Agent and good friend Brad Johnson started a Junior Sheparding Club. They meet monthly here at the house.
Needless to say we don't do things half way. That is why it is the Funny Farm!

If all goes as planned, we'll have babies beginning in a few weeks.

New Baby

We have a new baby calf at
the "big farm".
On a semi-warm day we took a gator
ride to see the new calf.
He was already too fast for us to
catch & the cows didn't want
us too close anyway.

Pruning Blueberries

Talton loves to help on the farm.
We now have blueberry, raspberry & blackberry bushes that have to be taken care of during the winter.
Of course Talton can't wait for summer because he has a path from our house straight to the raspberries!

Josie's class visits the Fire Department

Josie's class & the JrK took a trip to the Salisbury Fire Station.
They really enjoyed seeing the rescue engine as well as the Big fire truck.

Welcome to our new family blog spot.
I am going to try and use this technology:-)
